To add to what other people are saying, when you are doing one of the major arcs, on the title card of the event, it will have an icon that corresponds to the the arc. I also just love the fantasy and themes of the many lands and people you met. I've adapted pieces of it into different tabletop roleplaying segments to much success, mostly because it is made up of so many discrete bits and is so non-linear. This is one of my favorite games, mostly for how ambitious and weird it is and how much it is itself. If you just want to enjoy the game without increasing the difficulty settings, you can skip the crafting system almost entirely.Įnjoy yourself! I hope that the several comments in reply to your post are helpful. To compete in that one you'll want to get very into the crafting system on a previous save, because you can technically make arbitrarily powerful weapons and armor, it just takes a lot of grinding and careful applications of a baroque and incomprehensible crafting system. One is just harder, while the other automatically sets all enemies in the game to max level (including bosses). If you're playing NG+, you can go into your library and follow the prompts with a text called The Forbidden Book to increase difficulty. SO MANY.Ĭan I use the same character for NG+? Yep! You can bring the same character over and over again through permutations of the map and even different difficulty settings on second and later playthroughs. At a door in the main town of Domina you can also bring another save data character into the game for co-op play, as a secondary character.Īre there any missables? YES. It is possible to play couch co-op in this game, but only while you have a secondary character in the party. Some of them are tied to the main quest, some of them are tied to funny chains of side quests, and some of them are only available for one Event, or a couple of them you'll meet quite early and they'll move into your house and be available as companions on any Events or just general resource gathering trips you make where you would otherwise not have a secondary character. What is the secondary character thing about? You'll enlist or have forced on you the assistance of any of about a dozen NPCs or Secondary Characters in your many adventures. Like, there's a Desert Land the first time you go to the Desert Land, an event can start there if you want to progress Main Story C at a certain point, you'll be transported to the Desert Land, but only if you've already completed the Desert Land first event.) Some of the main storylines have Events that take place on those lands, sometimes even without you manually travelling to a given land on the overworld, and you won't be able to start a given particular Main Storyline Event until you've finished that starter Event for that land. You'll know an Event started because the screen will darken and zoom out and a Title Card will appear There are also several other events which are not directly tied to the main storylines, but some of them are required to progress ahead in one or more of the main storylines (for example, several of the lands in the game have an Event that triggers the first time you go there. Each main story is made up of a chain of Events that happen in a chronological order. How do I know which on I am in currently? The main storylines can all happen simultaneously, but generally you'll only do one Event at a time.
